Julian was absolutely crucial to my success in CHEM 3B with Professor Marsden. After lectures, I often felt overwhelmed and completely lost, but his sessions consistently brought clarity and provided me with confidence. He has an exceptional ability to break down complex concepts step by step, making even challenging topics feel approachable and intuitive. Julian was always willing to answer my questions thoroughly and never moved on until I understood the fundamentals. Beyond his knowledge of the subject, he genuinely cares about his students' progress and goals. His consistent support, patience, and encouragement also helped me stay motivated. Berkeley's chemistry curriculum is notoriously rigorous, but having Julian as a tutor was vital in helping me navigate the course and earn a final grade that I am proud of. Julian was a huge help throughout my UC Berkeley Organic Chemistry course with Pete Marsden. Before each exam, he made sure I was comfortable with the topics he expected to be emphasized, which helped me focus my studying on the material that mattered most. Leading up to the final, he sent me a lot of mechanism practice problems that were incredibly helpful for preparing for the exam. What I appreciated most was that his questions closely matched the style and difficulty of the questions I saw in the actual course, so I always felt more confident going into tests. Overall, working with Julian made a big difference in my understanding of organic chemistry and helped me feel much more prepared throughout the semester. Julian is hands down the best tutor ever— I definitely could not have tackled Chem 210 and 215 without him!
